Hotel booked for Seville
|
Assuming we win in Vienna allowing us to play out the Zagreb game with the academy boys, we will be 3 games from the final in Seville on Wednesday May 18th
On the basis that once in the knock out stage our focus will be on the final and an EPL top 4 finish I felt confident enough to book a hotel in Seville.
Currently they are plentiful and not too pricey but don't expect that to last. 2 nights in the old city, 1/2 mile from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium for £154.
Fly into Malaga and train it to Seville may take a couple of days extra for some spring sunshine. Might seem mad to book it now and no idea how id get a match ticket but got to be worth a shot.... The worst thing that could happen? A Spanish holiday in mid May....
I haven't had a West Ham feeling like this since 1976... oooer!!

Listen Manuel, Many of us for years dreamed of have Great European nights and having a good run in a competition. Now we are living the dream and we are all are excited playing against some of the best teams in Europe if not winning the cup itself. So therefore forecasting out potential opposition is a natural thing since we were deny this experiences for years. So you can go away in a dark room, "do one" & impregnate yourself while the sane adults discuss this topic! .

Saw Seville at home. Nice little ground, very easy to get in and out of. Quite a few nice bars outside too for a pre match beer.

The current Athletico Madrid team are nothing to shout about... easily beaten by Liverpool recently and didn't lay a glove on Chelsea last season.
FC Sheriff have gone a bit off the boil but they started the season on fire, beating Real Madrid in Madrid... interestingly they knocked out Dynamo Zagreb in the CL preliminary rounds.
I think it's clear from last season's CL & EL how superior the English teams are to all but the very best foreign sides. We've got to have a great chance in this.
Bring it on...

I went and watched a game there a couple of years ago, just went to Seville airport. Nice little place though.

Surely easier to fly into Seville rather than get a train there from Malaga.

Syd - I forgot about Napoli. Nothing wrong with being confident, but maybe we are getting a bit carried away here. Clearly it is going to be a very difficult thing to win. Just being in the knock out stages post Xmas is big progress.

For a bit of context, none of the sides mentioned are better than Liverpool

Beating Atalanta in a pre season game don’t mean a lot Cough! Fuck all in fact. But of all the cups this is the one I think we could win, even more so than the Carabao when you look at who is left in that.
But will depend on who comes down from the CL, bound to be at least one big club that fucks things up and ends up in the Europa, but if it ends up being Lazio, Napoli or Leicester as our biggest threat then we really have to fancy our chances.
If a Barca or Athletico or one of the PL sides then a bit more tricky

Lazio are second behind Galatasaray and they only won now game. While Leicester are third in their table also won one game.
Best teams so far in the EL are us, Lyon, Frankfurt and Baya Leverkusen.

Not sure I'd be confident against Atletico Madrid, although of course you are going have to beat a top side to win it. Lazio and Leicester are probably the best 2 other sides in the EL now.

So far the third place teams in the CL are:
Club Brugge, Atletico Mardrid, Sporting Lisbon (level in points with Dortmond) , Sheriff Tiraspol, Bencifa, Atlanta, Wolfsburg (level in points with Lille), Zenit.
I say that Atletico Mardird, Lisbon and Atalanta are the team's to watch out possibly in the next phase of the Europa League.

Lard, you are wrong about Johnson.
In the first sentence of your last post you mistakenly called it a man.

Most people on WHO know you're a bitter and twisted man Johnson, a dinosaur.
What is happening to our club right now is amazing and should be enjoyed by everyone associated with it.
As for my commitment to West Ham United as a fan, since 1974 attended in excess 600 home games and visited 38 away grounds, some on numerous occasions over the years.
Never been a STH, always took my chances, as I will when the away legs become apparent next year.

What’s cringey is not even knowing that we have to play home and away in the knockouts.
